The purpose of Christ's death
Victor Porton proposed a new theory of the purpose of Jesus' death.
Accordingly this theory, Jesus died to show (especially to heavenly beings) that altruism will be rewarded even if it seems that it leads to death. This way Christ pulled them to his side of the cosmic battle and thus won it.
