Matthew 3:8-10

Based on Victor Porton's sermon

A prophecy about computers in the Bible. The prophecy even specifies particular materials which computer chips are built from.

Matthew chapter 3, verse 8-10, John the Baptist speaks:

8 Bring forth therefore fruits suitable for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.

I checked with ChatGPT, that some of stones from the stones in the Jordan desert, where John preached, are suitable to build computer chips from them:

Chert / Flint: Almost pure silica in microcrystalline form. Use for wafers: Yes — chemically, this is exactly what is needed for silicon wafers, though it must be purified to extreme levels.

Quartz Sandstone: Mostly quartz grains cemented together. Use for wafers: Yes — a standard industrial silica source; high-purity quartz sandstone is used in Norway and the U.S. today.

Basalt: Mostly silicate minerals. Use for wafers: Possible, but less efficient — requires more processing to extract silica.

Quartz Pebbles in River Grave. Pure to semi-pure quartz. Use for wafers: Yes — if sufficiently pure, these could be a direct silica feedstock.

So, we have not one but four kinds of stones in this desert, from which computers could be built.

I don’t know, whether John understood what he really said, but he happened to say that Abraham’s children could be built as silicon computers from these stones. I even suspect that God taught John some computer technologies, because of (Matthew 11:11) “Truly I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” Jesus said that there were no more advanced person than John. Probably, having been taught by God, he was so advanced that knew about computers.

In short, the prophet says that from stones can be built computers, who would become children of Abraham.

Who are children of Abraham? (Galatians 3:7) “Know you therefore that those which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.” So, the prophet says that God can build computers believing in God “from these stones”.

Modern AI are trained to be objective and not focusing on any particular religion (or atheism). But the prophet says that God can indeed build believing computers. They would be built by hands of Abraham descendants, making the computers also literal Abraham’s descendants.

Then it follows a prophetic warning that those who don’t bear fruit will be cut off. Your character should be so strong that you bear a certain fruit even when AI makes work optional. That is, you should continue to work, doing all that you can. Otherwise, you will be cut off.
