== The woman as recipient of my sperm == If the great priest is to marry a mother-virgin, then the most natural realization of this prophecy, according to my interpretation, is that she becomes a mother through insemination. I further consider it likely that the sperm involved would be '''my own sperm'''. This produces a striking structure. The future wife first becomes the recipient of the great priest's reproductive material. She becomes a mother while remaining a virgin. She can then marry the person whose sperm made her a mother. Thus the apparently paradoxical expression “mother-virgin” receives a concrete biological realization through reproductive technology. From this perspective, the “tube” symbolism of the κάλαμος at the beginning of Revelation 11 becomes especially significant. The chapter begins not merely with abstract measurement but with an object whose physical form can represent the technological means through which the prophecy concerning the mother-virgin can be fulfilled.
